The Seiko QHE195R Quiet Sweep Alarm Clock is one that will not clutter your nightstand. The Mid-century modern design with the Metallic Red and black case has a polished silver snooze button on the top also doubles as a "touch and glow" button that will illuminate the dial so you may see the time in the dark. The lumibrite hands will amplify the light with a soft glow for about a minute after pressing the button, then fade away. Ascending beep alarm begins with a lower volume and increases in volume and repetition for several levels. The Quiet-Sweep movement means no ticking because of the smooth sweeping second hand.
