HOWARD MILLER MODEL 645-723  OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

 

STARTING

  1. Remove the plastic insulator extending out of the

battery cover on the bottom of the clock.

  1. The batteries for the flashlight are located under the

batteries for the clock. To activate the flashlight

batteries, remove the battery cover from the bottom

of the clock.

  1. Remove the two AAA batteries for the clock.
  2. Remove the plastic insulator tab.
  3. Replace the batteries for the clock according to the

diagram in the battery compartment.

 

TIME ZONE SETTING

  1. Turn the knob on the end of the clock to choose a

city or time zone.

  1. Press the [SET] button to set this time zone as your

home time zone. “HOME TIME” will appear in the

display above the time.

 

TIME AND DATE SETTING

  1. Press the [SET] button to enter the setting mode,”12

Hr” or “24 Hr” will appear and flash in the display.

  1. The setting sequence is:

Normal time display” > 12Hr/24Hr > seconds > Reset – Hour >

Language for day-of-week < Date  < Month < Month < Year  < Minute

  1. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust and press the

[SET] button to confirm and advance through the

setting sequence.

 

Note: The language choices for the day of the week are

English (G8), Spanish (ES), German (DE), French

(FR), and Italian (IT).

 

WORLDTIME

Turn the knob on the end of the clock to display the

current time in various locations throughout the world.

If the location you select is observing daylight-saving

time the * icon will appear in the display and the time

displayed will be adjusted automatically.

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME

The clock will automatically adjust between daylight-

saving time an standard time for each time zone in the

fall and in the spring and no adjustment is necessary by

the user.

Note: The daylight-saving time of Cairo and Rio De

Janeiro are dynamic and uncertain. For Cairo the clock

will adjust for daylight-saving and standard time on the

first Friday in April and on the last Friday in August. For

Rio De Janeiro the clock will adjust on the third Sunday

in October and on the second Sunday in February. You

can manually turn the daylight saving time adjustment

on and off for these locations by pressing and holding

the UP Arrow button.

 

ALARM SETTING

  1. In the normal time display mode press the [MODE]

button to enter the alarm mode. The “AL” icon will

appear in the display.

  1. Press the [SET] button to enter the alarm setting

mode. Follow the order below te set the hour and

minute using the UP and DOWN ARROW buttons.

> Hour >  Minute >  Exit

  1. In the alarm mode press the UP ARROW button to turn the

alarm and snooze on and off. The alarm icon and

snooze icon, “z” will appear in the display when these

functions are turned on.

  1. Press [MODE] twice to return to the normal time

mode.

  1. When the alarm is turned on without the snooze, the

alarm will sound at the set time each day for one

minute. The alarm can be silenced by pressing any

button.
