This rare, limited edition clock was built in the late 90s and in excellent condition. A slender pinch-waist case, elaborate pierced wood detailing on the bonnet hood and judicious use of ribbon mahogany on a background of deep mahogany place the Aaron Willard and his brother, Simon Willard in the notable clock making era of 1780 through 1800.
Reproduction from The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village American Life Collection. Hand painted dial. Delicate band of inlaid maple on the door and bottom. A gleam of brass complements the hand-rubbed mellow patina of wood, with brass rods attached to top and middle columns, brass caps adorning top front and middle columns and brass ball finials crowning the hood. The Kieninger Clock movement has minimal wear and is fully operational, serviced and oiled. This clock was completely dissembled and each part cleaned then reassembled.
Cable driven, German made Kieninger triple chime movement includes Westminster, Whittington and St. Micheal's chime options. Functional moondial. Automatic Night-time silence feature. Non-perpetual Calendar function is displayed above the numeral six.
