The Hermle 22836-072987 AstroLabium Planetary Clock is a fascinating timepiece with a handsome high-polished cherry base. A human blown glass dome according to an old, handcrafted tradition with slight imperfections in the glass like an antique. Through the visible highly intricate gear train system, the Astrolabium clock reproduces the annual orbit of the earth along the sun, with the earth rotating around its own axis once in 24 hours. A white chapter ring displays Roman numerals with contrasting black hands on the front. A balanced brass vine pattern inside the dial is open in the center to expose the gears in the front of the clock.

This clock is also known as an "Orrery" displaying the sun, earth, and moon, and displays their relative positions and motions.
